Ray Underwood (Artistic Director)

Canine Freestyler. Indoor Kite Flyer. Dancer. Musician. Choreographer. Perfectionist.

A founder of Canine Freestyle in North America. Ray is one of the greatest Canine Freestylers in the world. 

He trained the first Master's level dog in individual, pairs and teams. He has competed at the national level in figure skating, ballroom dancing, and indoor kite flying. Ray is also a fine musician. He currently plays guitar and keyboards and has for years and years now. He has studied with some of the best shred guitarists in the world such as Yngwie Malmsteen and Luca Turilli. 

Ray is the director of "Escape the Darkness" as well as the director for the upcoming current stage production, "Shadows of Eternity". Ray has been featured and showcased on many different television/film productions with everything he does. 

Ray has a passion for the performing arts and is always pushing the boundaries of what can be done.

Lin MacDonald (Producer)

Lin stage managed and designed the set for 2010’s "Escape the Darkness"  and will be doing the same on the upcoming stage production of  "Shadows of Eternity”.

As a professional Set Decorator for the Motion Picture industry , Lin’s credits include  "TRON: Legacy", "Night at the Museum I and 2",  "Underworld: Evolution",  "I, Robot" and "Mission to Mars ", just to name a few.  

When Lin jumped into Canine Freestyle a few years ago, conventional thought was that it was a sport best suited to working breeds.  Lin has made it her mission to prove that the Toy breeds are a force to be reckoned with! She is currently training her two Yorkies at an Intermediate level, and is performing all over Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. 


Lin has proven herself to be a perfectionist. She has a true passion for the arts and is always striving to be absolutely perfect with everything she does.

Tristan Underwood (Performance Artist)

As recently seen on Canada's Got Talent, Underwood is one of the most prominent Indoor Kite Flyers in the world. He has been involved with this art form for 12 years now. He has won multiple titles throughout his competitive career in the American Kite Flyers Association. He has been featured on many television and stage productions. Just to name a few are, "Canada's Got Talent", "Shadows of Eternity", and "Escape the Darkness."

Tristan has also had great success in Canine Freestyle. He has won multiple awards including the High Technical Performance Award in Paws 2 Dance's International Freestyle Competition at the Bell Centre in 2010. Since then, Tristan has picked up a new canine partner, 'Magic'. 


Tristan has a true passion for the performing arts. He is always pushing the limits of what can be done in everything he does. 

Erin Carnie (Performance Artist)

Erin began her dance career at the early age of 5 and by the time she was 8 she was performing in all genres and discovered her true passion of contortion and acrobatics. 

Erin currently trains with Westcoast Contortion and Acrobatics with Anne Lawton and Bridgette Auclair. She has also had the opportunity to train with Otgo Waller, a world renowned contortionist from Cirque du Soleil. 

Erin's latest endeavor is training on aerial silks under the guidance of Kristi Toguchi from Las Vegas. 

Erin has performed in many professional shows including the Great Big Boo, the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and various gala events.

Egan Davis (Performance Artist)

Egan has been involved with Indoor Kite Flying for just over 10 years now. 
He has competed at the National level and has won many different titles throughout his years of competing. He has traveled all over the world demonstrating and showcasing Indoor Kite Flying. 

When Egan is performing his routines, he is known for his artistic side. He often puts on a good show by dressing up and really acting and putting on a show. 

Egan is also a fine musician. He plays guitar and does some singing as well.

Egan is very passionate for the performing arts and is always pushing the limits on the artistic side of his routines.


 

Kailey Jackson (Performance Artist)

Known for her diversity, Kailey has been dancing since the age of 5. She has attended numerous dance schools and is always furthering her knowledge and passion for dance and contortion. 
She has taken classes by some of the top choreographers in the world such as Tyce Diorio, Tabitha And Napoleon D'umo, as well as Mia Michaels.

She has competed all over in places such as Las Vegas as well as International Dance Competitions here in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Kailey is a very diverse dancer and specializes in a wide-range of different styles. From Jazz, to Hip Hop, to Contemporary, she knows it all. 

Kailey is very excited about the creation of Artistic Expressions and looks forward to putting her passion into what we do.

Annette Granbois (Performance Artist)

Annette became involved with Canine Freestyle several years ago. She initially performed at many community events and competitions with her Sheltie. In recent years she had enjoyed training and working with her Border Collie, Jake. 

Annette was also the costume designer for "Escape the Darkness" as well as the current upcoming stage production "Shadows of Eternity".

Annette has a true passion for the performing arts. She is always coming up with new ideas and pushing the boundaries of what can be done.

Chris Chen (Performance Artist)

Chris has been working with dogs for as long as anyone can remember. He has been studying Canine Protection as well as Obedience work for about 16 years now. 

After 16 years of gaining knowledge from many different types of trainers all over, just this year, Artistic Director - Ray Underwood has taken Chris under his wing and has been showing him many diverse and unique ways of developing Canine Protection into an art form.

Chris has recently got a new Border Collie Puppy named "Phoenix" that he plans on excelling in Canine Musical Freestyle with.

Chris has a true passion for the performing arts. He is very excited about bringing the art form of Canine Protection to AEP's Productions and Shows.
